“SpeakUP! – Developing the Language Skills of Young People in Brașov” is a project dedicated to high school students in Brașov, as well as young people from foster care centers who want to improve their communication skills and become more confident in expressing themselves in a foreign language.

The SpeakUP! project is supported by Mondly by Pearson, with the involvement of their volunteers, and implemented by The Social Incubator Association.

Over the course of nine months, 60 young people will learn how to develop these skills through foreign language courses, debates, and public speaking sessions. Using the Mondly platform, participants will learn foreign languages in an interactive and engaging way, while debates will help them practice critical thinking and argumentation skills. These activities are designed to enable young people to express their opinions clearly and convincingly, both in front of an audience and in everyday conversations.

In addition to developing language and communication skills, the project also provides young people with the necessary tools to build a successful professional future. They will learn how to create an attractive CV, choose a career, and prepare for job interviews. Career guidance sessions will be an important first step in facing the challenges of the job market. Throughout the project, participants will benefit from mentorship provided by Mondly volunteers, who will offer support and guidance.

Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to take part in inter-school debate competitions, where they will showcase their argumentation skills and present viewpoints on current topics.

“SpeakUP!” is about increasing young people’s confidence in their communication skills and preparing them for future educational and professional opportunities. By the end of this project, participants will be much more confident and ready for the challenges that lie ahead.
